  16.     The 05R/W is a half-rack synth-module with a built-in PC and Macintosh
  17.     compatible interface which was designed for multi media.  Features are
  18.     6 megabytes of PCM sounds, 228 programs (100 RAM, 128 ROM), eight drum
  19.     kits,  100  combinations,  and two effect processors.  Polyphony is 32
  20.     voices.   It  also offers 16-channel multi-timbrality and General MIDI
  21.     compatibility.

  25.     Kawai RV4 and GMega
  26.     
  27.     The  new Kawai RV4 stereo effect processor comes as an 1U rack-module.
  28.     It has four processors as well as four inputs and outputs which can be
  29.     used  seperately  or  in  different combinations.  Features are 18-bit
  30.     DAC,  a 48 kHz sampling rate, extensive MIDI control, 19 effect types,
  31.     50  user  and  50  preset  programs.   It  even offers digital optical
  32.     AES/EBU stereo ins and outs.

  34.     Kawai  showed  their  new  GMega  General  MIDI  synth  module  on the
  35.     Frankfurter  Messe in Germany.  It comes with a built-in serial device
  36.     for  use  with  a  computer.   The GMega features 32-note polyphony, 6
  37.     megabytes   of  PCM  samples,  editing  features  (sweepable  filters,
  38.     comprehensive envelopes and 55 tuning temperaments), an effect section
  39.     and two MIDI inputs.

  43.     GEM S2/S3 Turbokit, S4 and S2/R

  45.     The  new  Turbokit  for the S2/S3 is a plug-in option and features 500
  46.     ROM  sounds  and 32-voice polyphony.  Besides it offers new sound edit
  47.     options,   e.g.   pictorial  waveform  editing,  multi-function  sound
  48.     creation  capabilities  and  new sequencer functions, among other ones
  49.     also  a  new  pattern  sequencer.   The  Turbokit  also allows to load
  50.     samples  directly from disks of Akai sample libraries, and it includes
  51.     an optional memory expansion for future upgrades.

  53.     The  GEM S4 features the tone generation of the S2/S3 combined with 88
  54.     weighted  keys.   Nothing  amazing,  but  worth  to  take a look at it
  55.     anyway.

  57.     The  rack-version  of  the  GEM  S2 is now available and is called GEM
  58.     S2/R.

  62.     Mackie 1604 Mixer Automation OTTO-1604

  64.     Mackie have finally realeased the MIDI controlled automation for their
  65.     excellent 1604 Mixer.  They have also designed a special software tool
  66.     called "OTTOmix" for the Apple Macintosh (booooo!) which is compatible
  67.     with MIDI Manager and Opcode's MIDI System.  It allows the comfortable
  68.     control of faders, aux sends and mutes as well as snapshots.

  74.     The  Porta  07 is a multitrack-recorder and was derived from the Porta
  75.     One  and  Two.   It  contains  a 4-track-recorder with dbx-dolby and a
  76.     4-channel mixer with 2 mic inputs, 2-band EQ and effect sends for each
  77.     channel as well as stereo effect returns and stereo sub inputs.

  81.     Emu CD-ROMs for Emax II

  83.     Emu  have  announced  CD-ROMs  for  the  Emax  II:   pop/rock, ethnic,
  84.     percussion  sounds  and  various  sound effects.  Each CD will contain
  85.     16-bit samples.  The sounds are grouped by bank size for compatibility
  86.     with various memory configurations.
